Melodye Phillips, LPC-S, PMH-C, CEDS

Hey mama!
I’m Melodye Phillips…. therapist, business owner, mommy, and long-time therapy client. I know firsthand that finding the right therapist can feel like such a huge undertaking. Not all therapists are a good fit for all people. You may want to know if I’m a good fit for you, so feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns, but here’s some info to get you started on that process!
I’m a lover of baseball and University of Michigan football, crocheting, reading, baking, and COLD weather. I was born and raised in Texas but my heart desires to live where there are 4 seasons and snow is a regular thing.
I love working with moms to process through pregnancy and postpartum because I get it. I’m a mom in the trenches- the trenches of joy and wonder and overwhelming love- that can also be lonely and scary and just plain hard.
Particularly, I love to walk with moms in healing their relationship with food and their pregnant and/or postpartum body.
My Enneagram 4 heart loves being present in times of pain and grief through pregnancy loss, complicated pregnancy, and traumatic birth.
Not only have my own life experiences shaped my professional path, but I’m pretty dedicated to being thoroughly trained in the areas that interest me. I’m the one of the few Certified Perinatal Mental Health Providers in East Texas and Certified Eating Disorder Specialists. I also supervise Licensed Professional Counselor- Associates to support my colleagues in training and ethical practices.
I have a background in child sexual abuse/trauma, adolescent issues, family work, and play therapy. I got my bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and my master’s degree University of Texas at Tyler. I’m also a Certified Spiritual Director through Lipscomb University. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and lean into this modality most heavily. I also use Narrative Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology. And I work from a fat inclusive, weight neutral, diet neutral stance.
If you’re interested in working together, I’d be happy to set up a time to talk and see if we’d be a good fit. I love all things therapy and I am super passionate about helping you find the right therapist to fit your needs! Call or text me at 903-805-0531 or email me at melodye@mmhetx.com.

Katherine Stanglin, LMSW, PMH-C

Hello, I’m Katherine Stanglin. I am a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C), trained Brainspotting® therapist, certified childbirth educator, and Evidence Based Birth® Instructor Emeritus. Much of my professional career has been focused on providing birth support services to aid families as they prepare for and experience pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenting. These experiences are what propelled me into mental health care, and they continues to inform my practice as a therapist.
My focus now is to provide mental health care for individuals and couples experiencing difficulties surrounding conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, parenting and relationship challenges, as well as other life challenges that may come up.
I am trained in Brainspotting®, a modality for trauma processing, and I frequently utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping (EFT Tapping), as well as some components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
